We are a small, family owned, start up business based out of Essex.  Growing up on a farm on the coast we spent all our time outdoors.  Life changed and we found ourselves in office jobs, indoors and unhappy about it!   When lock down hit we decided (finally) to do something that allowed us more of what we loved. British Summer Time was born.

At British Summer Time, we want to help you make the most of every day, so, we’ve created high-quality, performance outerwear to inspire you to embrace the outdoors whatever the weather.

Nature holds a special place in our hearts. We believe that spending time outdoors not only benefits the environment, but also nurtures our mental and physical well-being. That's why we go the extra mile to choose the best fabrics and materials, ensuring your clothes remain durable companions for years.

Our designs focus on quality and comfort, we aim for practical classic looks that won't go out of fashion.  We've adopted advanced manufacturing processes that help us reduce waste and maintain the highest standards of workmanship.  The goal is to allow you to have fewer, but better, clothes.

While we prioritise sustainability, it's important to mention that not all of our fabrics are currently recycled. We focus on performance and longevity, which sometimes means not all recycled materials meet our standards. Nonetheless, we actively incorporate eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible. For instance we love using Modal, a semi-synthetic fabric made from beech tree pulp. We blend Modal with cotton and elastane to ensure strength and durability, it's more expensive to use, but definitely worth it.

You’ll see our collection isn’t huge, as we have only just started out, but it will be growing.  If you're wondering who we are to tell you what to wear, fear not. We may be new, but our design team isn’t. They have over 25 years of experience designing outdoor wear for the world's biggest brands. We focus all that expertise into our principles of style, practically and durability - allowing you to conquer the weather.
